The maindisadvantage in diesel engines is the emission ofdangerous pollutants like oxides of nitrogen (NOX)and particulate matter (PM) heavily, which affectseriously the environment and human health. Therare earth metals now used as catalyst to reduceNOX are costly and rarely available. The scarcityand high demand of present catalyst materialsnecessitate the need for finding out the alternatives.Among all other particulate filter materials, knittedsteel wire mesh material is selected as filtermaterials. Models with filter materials of very finegrid size wire meshes packed inside the manifolddevelop more back pressure which causes more fuelconsumption due to lower volumetric efficiency. %U http://www.ijctee.org/files/VOLUME2ISSUE2/IJCTEE_0412_35.pdf
