There fore, the administrative records of the regional military command were utilized and articles of various newspapers and publications from the state of Mato Grosso. Other information gaps were filled with the bibliography dedicated to regional matters and in some cases regional memoirswere also utilized. With this in mind, I used the records covering everyday life of enlisted men and non commissioned officers who served in various garrisons in Mato Grosso, besides other information encountered in local newspapers and other printed media. These were important for the accomplishment of the goals of this article. Another relevant aspect to be pointed out concerns the social relations between the basic elements which constitute military organizations and their hierarchical superiors. Thus, I intendto present and discuss instances of conflict and insubordination involving both ends of the military institution in the early decades of the 20th century within the regional context of Mato Grosso. Both aspects can be ascertained by the analysis of documents known as Ordens do Dia from 13.a Regi o Militar, in which the records of punishment of enlisted men and officers can be found, as well as documents regarding the medical conditions of the military, their diets, payment and others aspects of the aregimented life inthat occidental place of the Brazilian territory. %K Non commissioned Officers %K Officers %K Army %K Mato Grosso %U http://www.revistas2.uepg.br/index.php/tel/article/view/2641/1983
