Benth.(Family: Scrophulariaceae), an important endangered temperate medicinal plant used as hepatic stimulant is a perennial herb propagated mostly by stolon segments. Chromosome number and its reproductive behaviour are reported for the first time. Meiosis is normal in the species with 2n=34 chromosomes.
