%0 Journal Article %T Miko aj Karpow-Lipski (1896-1981), gardener-plant breeder %A TOMASZ BOJARCZUK %J Rocznik Polskiego Towarzystwa Dendrologicznego %D 2010 %I %X Miko aj Karpow-Lipski (1896-1981) studied at the best horticultural schools in the Russian partition ¨C at the Warsaw School of Horticulture at the Pomological Garden and then at the famous Horticultural and Agricultural College at Humann. From 1928 he worked on the production and selection of many horticultural and agricultural plants (vines, currants, gooseberries, pears, rhubarb and peonies). His greatest successes were in the production of rhubarb, peonies and lilac. His cultivars of Syringa vulgaris ¨C ¡®Chmurka¡¯, ¡®Stefan Makowiecki¡¯, ¡®Miko aj Karpow-Lipski¡¯ and others are known and valued both in Poland and abroad. %K lilac %K selection %K breeding %K Oleace %U http://www.ptd.pl/download/2010/79-82.pdf
