%X The glycerin generated as by-product during biodiesel production is still the main drawback related to this industry. There is a plethora of studies about glycerin derivatives, but industrial application is still limited due to its high cost. However, there is a Brazilian company which uses the glycerin¡äs energetic potential by combination with a biodiesel factory. This company burns glycerin to obtain the heat needed to produce ceramic materials, earning carbon credits and also profits from this biodiesel by-product.
