%X Along a bit more than four decades the journal MiscelĄ¤l¨¤nia Zool¨°gica have published near 900 papers. A simple survey on the contents of these papers discloses some remarks. Faunistics and taxonomy were the main issues dealt with in and the insects were the goal more frequently analysed. The geographical range was centred in the Iberian peninsula, mainly Catalonia. The intellectual heritage of MiscelĄ¤l¨¤nia Zool¨°gica is today followed by the journal Animal Biodiversity and Conservation from 2001 and by Arxius de MiscelĄ¤l¨¤nia Zool¨°gica from this current volume. It is time to start the work of writing the history of MiscelĄ¤l¨¤nia Zool¨°gica.
