%X Les habitants du village tseltal d¡¯Aguacatenango se trouvent confront¨¦s aujourd¡¯hui ¨¤ diff¨¦rents bouleversements, dont les plus importants sont la prochaine r¨¦organisation administrative et politique et, depuis une vingtaine d¡¯ann¨¦es, la diversification des r¨¦f¨¦rents religieux. Ces transformations les obligent ¨¤ adapter ou ¨¤ reformuler ce qui pour eux constitue   la tradition   et, par l¨¤ m¨ºme, leur identit¨¦. L¡¯une de leur principale pr¨¦occupation concernant ces changements est la mise en danger de leur conception de la bonne administration des affaires publiques. Les questions de distribution des pouvoirs sont ainsi au c ur des discours sur les processus actuels de   modernisation   de la communaut¨¦. Cet article se propose de revenir sur leur approche particuli¨¨re de la notion de pouvoir par l¡¯analyse de la forme d¡¯organisation actuelle de leur administration, le syst¨¨me de charges. L¡¯outil conceptuel de   fronti¨¨res ¨¦paisses   permet de faire appara tre, ¨¤ la marge du syst¨¨me, d¡¯autres espaces de pouvoir, moins visibles mais tout aussi effectifs pour la population. Cette r¨¦flexion nous donnera une vision plus g¨¦n¨¦rale des diff¨¦rentes sph¨¨res de pouvoir et de leurs fronti¨¨res, permettant pour la suite une lecture plus simple des v¨¦ritables enjeux des changements actuels et des possibles strat¨¦gies d¡¯adaptation qui en d¨¦couleront. The inhabitants of the Tzeltal village of Aguacatenango currently find themselves confronted with various upheavals, the most serious of which are the upcoming administrative and political reorganisation and, over the past twenty years, the diversification of religious tenets. These transformations force them to adapt or reformulate what for them constitutes ¡°tradition¡± and, by extension, their identity. One of their main concerns in relation to these changes is the endangerment of their conception of good public affairs administration. Therefore, power distribution questions lie at the heart of discourse on the community¡¯s current ¡°modernisation¡± processes. This article examines their particular approach to the notion of power through an analysis of their administration¡¯s current organisation, the system of charges. The ¡°thick boundaries¡± conceptual tool makes it possible to reveal, in the margins of the system, other power spaces that are less visible but no less real to the population. This study will give us a more general view of the different spheres of power and their boundaries, subsequently enabling a simpler understanding of the real issues raised by the current changes, as well as the possible adaptation strategies
