%X Saya est le nom d¡¯un robot anthropomorphe d¨¦velopp¨¦ par le professeur Kobayashi de l¡¯universit¨¦ de Tokyo. Le professeur fait ici la d¨¦monstration de son robot-institutrice devant une classe d¡¯¨¦l¨¨ves. Cette d¨¦monstration qui tourne mal fournit le point de d¨¦part pour l¡¯auteur d¡¯une r¨¦flexion sur la virtuosit¨¦ des machines. Artiste et plasticien, ce dernier s¡¯interroge sur la filiation entretenue par la d¨¦monstration de Saya avec le test de Turing et sur l¡¯ambigu t¨¦ entre l¡¯homme et la machine qui hante toute d¨¦monstration en robotique. Une relation s¡¯¨¦tablit ici, durant la d¨¦monstration, avec le public o¨´ tout le monde semble s¡¯accorder spontan¨¦ment sur le fait que le faux doit faire effet de r¨¦el. L¡¯observation d¡¯une d¨¦monstration qui ¨¦choue est une formidable opportunit¨¦ pour saisir en quoi les d¨¦monstrations en robotique ont besoin de cette confusion ontologique (entre l¡¯homme et la machine) pour produire des effets de virtuosit¨¦. Saya is the name of an anthropomorphic robot developed by Professor Kobayashi of Tokyo University. The Professor demonstrates here his robot-teacher before a class of students. This demonstration gone wrong provides the starting point for the author to reflect on the virtuosity of machines. He questioned the link maintained by the Saya demonstration with the Turing Test and the ambiguity between man and machine that haunts every demonstration in robotics. A relationship is established here, during the demonstration, with the public in which everyone seems to agree voluntarily on the fact that what is fake must look real. The observation of a failed demonstration is a tremendous opportunity to capture the way robotics demonstrations need this ontological confusion (between man and machine) to produce effects of virtuosity.
