%X Les pol¨¦miques sur le risque individuel, le geste technique en trop, l¡¯ornement technique malheureux qui peut tout gacher, ont bien souvent pour effet d¡¯enfermer le football dans un sch¨¦ma simpliste du point de vue de l¡¯articulation de l¡¯individuel et du collectif comme de l¡¯action en g¨¦n¨¦ral. Est-on forc¨¦ment condamn¨¦ ¨¤ osciller au football entre l¡¯individuel et le collectif ? Si le football semble impr¨¦gn¨¦ de virtuosit¨¦, un probl¨¨me se pose d¨¨s lors qu¡¯il faut l¡¯attribuer et l¡¯isoler dans des actions souvent cafouilleuses. Sur la base d¡¯actions techniques accomplies par de fameux dribbleurs, cet article montre que la circulation du ballon sur un terrain n¡¯est ni explicable par la seule virtuosit¨¦ technique d¡¯un individu, ni simplement le r¨¦sultat de la somme des actions individuelles, et encore moins uniquement le produit d¡¯un plan tactique. En se d¨¦pla ant, le ballon se charge et se d¨¦charge d¡¯effets au gr¨¦ des relations entre les joueurs pr¨¦sents sur le terrain. Ce g¨¦n¨¦rateur d¡¯actions que constitue le   ballon en circulation   nous obligera ¨¤ aller voir du c t¨¦ de la physique et ¨¤ tenter une forme de commentaire de jeu l¨¦g¨¨rement d¨¦cal¨¦e. La reconnaissance des potentialit¨¦s physiques de la balle, qui sont d¨¦cupl¨¦es par le nombre de fois qu¡¯elle est touch¨¦e, est un pr¨¦alable n¨¦cessaire avant toute analyse de la virtuosit¨¦ footballistique et de ses modalit¨¦s d¡¯expression. The controversy over individual risk, uncalled technical gesture, unfortunate technical  ornament that can ruin everything, often have the effect of enclosing football in a simplistic point of view concerning the articulation of individual and collective action in general. In football, are we necessarily doomed to oscillate between the individual and the collective? If football seems imbued with virtuosity, a problem arises when it must be attributed and isolated in actions that are often muddled. On the basis of technical actions performed by famous dribblers, this paper shows that the movement of the ball on a field is not explained by the technical virtuosity of a single individual, nor simply by the result of the sum of individual actions, let alone by just the product of a tactical plan. While moving, the ball is charged and discharged of effects depending on the relations between the players on the field. The "ball in movement", this generator of actions, will require us to go towards physics and to try a slightly shifted form of game commentary.
