However security in WSN was not carefully carriedout, since only some symmetric encryption based protocols areproposed in literature, under the assumption that the nature ofsensor nodes does not support public key encryption due to thelimitation in battery and CPU power. However the new developmentof sensors technologies may allow more computational power andgives us the possibility to use public key encryption in WSN ifthe used algorithm is energy efficient such as ECC. Therefore inthis paper we propose a lightweight implementation of Public KeyInfrastructure (PKI). Our proposed protocol called mu PKI usespublic key encryption only for some specific tasks as session keysetup between the base station and sensors giving thenetwork an acceptable threshold of confidentiality and authentication. %K Key management %K PKI %K mu PKI %K public key encryption %K WSN %U http://ijns.femto.com.tw/download_paper.jsp?PaperID=IJNS-2008-03-15-2&PaperName=ijns-v10-n2/ijns-2010-v10-n2-p135-141.pdf
