%X The change in the concepts of cavity preparation and the production of reliable adhesive materials lead to the development of alternative methods of caries removal. Painless, minimal intervention and thus giving comfort, relief and instill positive attitude toward dental treatments, are some of the factors justifying the specialty of pediatric dentistry. Chemomechanical caries removal method is a conservative and atraumatic alternative and recently comes up again by means of developed a new chemomechanical caries removal agent papain-based gel (Papac¨¢rie , F¨®rmula&A  o, Sao Paulo, Brazil). The purpose of this paper is to perform a comprehensive review of the literature regarding chemomechanical caries removal methods, including the most recently available caries removal agent. ZET Kavite haz rlama prensiplerindeki de i im ve g¨¹venilir adeziv materyallerin ¨¹retilmesi,  ¨¹r¨¹ ¨¹n kald r lmas nda alternatif metotlar n geli tirilmesine yol a m  t r. A r s z, minimal m¨¹dahale ve bunun sa lad    konfor, g¨¹ven ve di  tedavilerine olumlu yakla  m,  zellikle  ocuk di  hekimli inde aran lan  zelliklerdir. Kemomekanik  ¨¹r¨¹k kald rma y ntemi konservatif ve atravmatik bir alternatiftir ve son zamanlarda geli tirilen yeni bir kemomekanik  ¨¹r¨¹k kald r c  ajan, papain bazl  jel (Papac¨¢rie , F¨®rmula&A  o, Sao Paulo, Brezilya) sayesinde tekrar g¨¹ndeme gelmektedir. Bu makalenin amac , yeni ¨¹retilen  ¨¹r¨¹k kald rma ajan  da dahil olmak ¨¹zere kemomekanik  ¨¹r¨¹k kald rma y ntemleri ile ilgili kapsaml  bir literat¨¹r derlemesi yapmakt r.
