%X This paper focuses the relationship between the citizens¡¯ actions and responsibility to the environment and the effect on the environment. With some prevalent environmental problems in Nigeria examined as it pertains to citizens¡¯ indiscipline and recommendations on how Nigeria can achieve a healthy and pollution free environment. Examples are the review of existing laws and legislations governing the citizens¡¯ societal behaviour. To reflect the present challenge of environmental responsibility and strengthening of relevant institutions to educate and enforce these laws were made.
