Conceptually, it discussed community participation and urban environmental sanitation and expressed the interface between the two. The paper also discussed the evolution of environmental sanitation practices in Nigeria before, during and after the colonial era. It went further to assess the situation of community participation in urban environmental sanitation in Nigeria.
