%X En general el an¨¢lisis de las decisiones cient¨ªficas del pasado permite obtener una mirada m¨¢s objetiva frente a las consecuencias y ayuda a visualizar mejores soluciones en el futuro. En el caso del acceso tem¨¢tico a las colecciones bibliogr¨¢ficas de la UNAM desde su creaci¨®n se observan influencias culturales en los instrumentos ling¨¹¨ªsticos para indizar y recuperar, que se mantienen hasta el d¨ªa de hoy. Se resalta la conveniencia de analizar las decisiones instrumentadas a la luz de las propuestas de acceso tem¨¢tico en el presente. Por lo tanto, en el trabajo se revisan principios sustentados desde una concepci¨®n socio-cognitiva del tratamiento terminol¨®gico que indican la conveniencia de adoptar metodolog¨ªas de trabajo, en el acceso tem¨¢tico a la informaci¨®n, con un pensamiento de respeto hacia la cultura transmitida a trav¨¦s de las lenguas, a pesar del costo elevado que ello supone. Overall analysis of the scientific decisions of the past allows a more objective look in regard with with the consequences and helps as to visualize better solutions in the future. In the case of subject access to library collections at UNAM since its settlement, cultural influences are seen in the linguistic tools to index and retrieve it, which remain until today. This paper highlights the convenience of analyzing the decisions considering present subject access proposals. Therefore we review the principles based on a conception of social-cognitive processing terminology indicating the convenience of working methods in the subject access to information, and with respect for the culture transmitted through the languages, despite the high cost that entails.
