%X L¡¯article prend comme point de d¨¦part les travaux de Zachary Baqu¨¦ et vise ¨¤ montrer, ¨¤ travers une ¨¦tude diachronique, que les films hollywoodiens de Lynch ne le sont pas uniquement par leur repr¨¦sentation satirique d¡¯un syst¨¨me corrompu qui compromet les ambitions qu¡¯il suscite, ni m¨ºme par la fa on dont il retravaille les conventions g¨¦n¨¦riques et narratives propres au cin¨¦ma hollywoodien. Hollywood est une pr¨¦sence ¨¤ la fois horizontale et verticale, physique et abstraite, r¨¦elle et imaginaire, qui renvoie ¨¤ la ville, au syst¨¨me, au cin¨¦ma et au r¨ºve, si bien que la satire, la topographie, les motifs visuels parfois clich¨¦s et les r¨¦f¨¦rences filmiques sont intimement li¨¦s en une expression de la subjectivit¨¦ et de l¡¯int¨¦riorit¨¦ The article takes Zachary Baqu¨¦¡¯s study of Los Angeles in the films of David Lynch as a starting point to explore David Lynch¡¯s Hollywood movies. The author contends that the films offer more than a satirical representation of a corrupt, unhealthy system which threatens dreams and artistic creativity, or a parodic play on Hollywood genre and narrative conventions. Rather, Hollywood is a character, a presence, revealed as both horizontal and vertical, physical and abstract, evoking the city, the studio system, cinema and dreams, so that the satire, the visual motifs and clich¨¦s and the topography of Hollywood, and the references to Hollywood films, constitute a complex fabric of subjectivity and interiority.
