%X O presente trabalho tem por objetivo entrela ar as narrativas de educadoras e fundadoras de uma institui  o de educa  o infantil e suas pr¨¢ticas de educa  o e cuidado de crian as em uma periferia economicamente empobrecida de Belo Horizonte. Atrav¨¦s de uma abordagem etnogr¨¢fica, reconstru¨ªmos algumas lembran as da constru  o desta creche comunit¨¢ria e alguns momentos da pr¨®pria infancia das educadoras, consideradas como elementos centrais para a an¨¢lise de algumas pr¨¢ticas institucionais. A an¨¢lise das narrativas das educadoras e das suas pr¨¢ticas cotidianas demonstra que a forma de rememorar implica e est¨¢ implicada na maneira de reconstruir tais pr¨¢ticas, muitas vezes garantindo os direitos sociais das crian as atendidas e, outras vezes, impedindo esses mesmos direitos. This article aims to entwine the narratives of teachers and founders of an early childhood education institution and their practices with children in the poor outskirts of Belo Horizonte. Memories of the foundation of this daycare center community and moments from the childhood of some of its teachers were gathered through ethnographic approach. These memories were considered as central elements for the analysis of some institutional practices. The analysis of the teachers' narratives and their daily practices shows that the way of remembering implies on the way these practices are reconstructed in the everyday life of the institution, either ensuring or hindering children's social rights.
