Nine different locations in parts of Iwo were considered for this study. The physico-chemical parameters were determined using standard methods and methods described by Ademoroti (1996). Generally, results compare favourably with WHO (2006) standards for drinking water, except water temperature with slight high values compared with WHO limits of < 25 oC for drinking water. This is an indication that the water may enhance the growth of micro-organisms, hence increase the problem related to taste, odour, colour and corrosion. The study revealed that the water in the area is suitable for drinking and other domestic purposes. It is therefore recommended that periodical assessment of both physico-chemical and microbial analysis of the area should be carried out, as this would be helpful in early detection of any future degradation. %K Key words: Water quality %K shallow well %K physico-chemistry %K drinking water %K Iwo. %U http://wudpeckerresearchjournals.org/JESWR/Pdf/2012/July/Olutona%20et%20al.pdf
