The material employed is Austeniticstainless steel. The results indicate that the new SNCF (K¦Ånew) for a certain lo is constant during elastic deformation andincreases with decreasing pitch lo. It also increases with increasing notch radius. The elastic K¦Å new for lo = 0.5 mm is theminimum. This becomes prominent with decreasing notch radius. The new SNCF increases from its elastic value to a peak value as the plastic deformation develops from notch root. On further plastic deformation, the new SNCF increases to the maximum value for lo = 0.0 and lo ¡Ý 2.5 and then decreases with plastic deformation. This peak value is the maximum K¦Å new for 0.0 < lo ¡Ü 2.0. %K Austenitic stainless steel %K interference %K slanted notch %K strain-concentration factor %K tension %U http://jjmie.hu.edu.jo/files/006-2-web.pdf
