%X RESUMEN: Entre los siglos XV y principios del XVII la explicaci車n aristot谷lica todav赤a garantizaba una idea de percepci車n visual exacta y digna de confianza, en especial la que se refiere a aquellas facultades humanas pertenecientes a la conocida como ＆alma sensitiva＊. Considerando los t谷rminos generales en que dicha teor赤a se planteaba, reputada por otro lado por la literatura m谷dica, psicol車gica y moral del momento, lo que en este ensayo pretendo poner de relieve son las influencias de dicha teor赤a aristot谷lica en el panorama intelectual europeo antes de Descartes. ABSTRACT: Visual perception and cognition deemed to be accurate and reliable were secured between the fifteenth and the very beginning seventeenth centuries largely by the Aristotelian theory, especially those human faculties belonging to what was called the ＆sensible soul＊. In terms of this theory, recounted throughout the medical, psychological and moral literature of early Modern Age, I wish to emphasize in this paper the Aristotelian theoretical influences in the intellectual culture of pre-Cartesian Europe.
