Rhizomes are horizontal underground stems that send out shoots as well as roots. Various parameters such as morphology, phytochemical profiles of the entire parts of the plant were studied and the salient diagnostic features are documented. Major chemical constituents, extractive values, physicochemical constants, and other features have also been recorded. Here, important chemicals like alkaloids, flavonoids, and amino acids were identified and isolated. %K Curcuma longa %K pharmacognostic standardization %K phytochemical screening %K CNS depressant activity %U http://www.pharmascitech.in/admin/php/uploads/47_pdf.pdf
