%X The aim pursued in this paper is to analyze the tourism activity of the region Tangier- Tetouan in Morocco. In addition to the study of the main available variables statistics for the region, a fieldwork has been carried out in the framework of an extensive research project on sustainable tourism, called Ibn Battouta. The values of the region have been compared with the values of other nearby areas in the Strait of Gibraltar. As a result of the analysis performed, the tourist potential of the region has been confirmed, including the sun and beach tourism. The current global situation has raised a number of questions and queries about the tendency of this activity in Morocco. Moroccan government has clearly opted for schemes ¡ªsuch as the called Plan Azur¡ª for the sector. The development of the tourism activity should also be accompanied by improving environmental parameters that have been affected by some of the actions taken in the coast of Tangier-Tetouan Region. Este art¨ªculo pretende analizar la actividad tur¨ªstica en la regi¨®n T¨¢nger-Tetu¨¢n en Marruecos. Adem¨¢s del estudio de las principales variables estad¨ªsticas disponibles en la zona, se ha realizado un trabajo de campo enmarcado dentro de un proyecto de investigaci¨®n m¨¢s amplio sobre turismo sostenible denominado Ibn Battouta. Se comparan los valores de la regi¨®n con otras ¨¢reas cercanas dentro del estrecho de Gibraltar. En este an¨¢lisis se constata el potencial tur¨ªstico de la regi¨®n. El gobierno marroqu¨ª ha apostado de forma evidente por el sector con planes como el ¡°Plan Azur¡±. Su desarrollo debe ir paralelo a la mejora de los par¨¢metros medioambientales que se han visto afectados por algunas de las actuaciones realizadas en la costa de dicha regi¨®n. [fr] Cet article analyse l'activit¨¦ touristique dans la r¨¦gion Tanger-T¨¦touan au Maroc. En outre l'¨¦tude des principales variables statistiques dans la zone, nous avons r¨¦alis¨¦ en travail sur le terrain plus approfondi encadr¨¦ dans le projet de recherche sur le tourisme soutenable Ibn Battouta. Notre investigation compare les valeurs de la r¨¦gion avec celles des aires prochaines dans le D¨¦troit de Gibraltar. Notre analyse constate le potentiel touristique de la r¨¦gion. Le Plan Azur du gouvernement Marrocain a soutenu favorablement ce secteur; son d¨¦veloppement doit ¨ºtre paralle`le ¨¤ l'am¨¦lioration des param¨¨tres environnementaux qui ont ¨¦t¨¦ affect¨¦s par certaines interventions r¨¦alis¨¦es dans la c te de la r¨¦gion en question.
