In History, Memory and Forgetting published in 2000, Ric ur¡¯s approach goes further than Bergson, Durkheim and Halbwachs. The memory issue in Ric ur is closely linked to a ¡°hermeneutics of the self¡± that he already introduced in Oneself as Another in 1990.
