The electrochemical oxidation and adsorption behavior of berberine was studied at the proposed electrodeby linear sweep voltammetry in acetate buffer (0.2 M, pH 5.6). A differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetric procedure has been developed fordetermination of the drug. A good linear relationship between the oxidation peak current magnitude and the concentration of berberine was observed in the range from 1.0 to 18.0 ¦ÌgmL-1with detection limit of 0.07 ¦ÌgmL-1and quantitation limit of0.24 ¦ÌgmL-1.
