%X The Response Surface Methodology is a useful way for assessing the seismic performance of structures. A description of this methodology and a short introduction into the Design of Experiments are presented. By using the cumulative probability density obtained after 10,000 Monte Carlo simulations on the response surface functions, it is illustrated, by a case study, the way in which the probability of a system of being in a damage state can be estimated.
