%X A partir de una revisi¨®n cr¨ªtica de distintos enfoques que se centran en la descripci¨®n de las estructuras ret¨®ricas y de sus rasgos ling¨¹¨ªsticos en art¨ªculos de investigaci¨®n, en el presente trabajo proponemos un nuevo m¨¦todo para describir este fen¨®meno en art¨ªculos de investigaci¨®n en espa ol. Para ello, se etiquet¨®, con movidas ret¨®ricas, un corpus de 162 art¨ªculos que es representativo de la producci¨®n cient¨ªfica chilena entre los a os 2000 y 2008. A los 11.000 o m¨¢s registros derivados del an¨¢lisis, se aplic¨® t¨¦cnicas estad¨ªsticas que permiten dar cuenta de cu¨¢les son las movidas ret¨®ricas (MR) protot¨ªpicas y describir los patrones l¨¦xico-gramaticales asociados a ellas en este tipo de textos especializados. Los resultados muestran, en primer lugar, cu¨¢les son las MR protot¨ªpicas en este tipo de textos y, en segundo lugar, que a ellas se asocian patrones l¨¦xico-gramaticales espec¨ªficos. Los resultados de esta investigaci¨®n se constituyen en valiosa evidencia emp¨ªrica tanto para los interesados en el an¨¢lisis del discurso cient¨ªfico como para aquellos enfocados en el ¨¢mbito de la did¨¢ctica y el aprendizaje de la escritura cient¨ªfica. In this paper, we propose a new method for the description of rhetorical structures and their corresponding linguistic features in research articles in Spanish. The method is based on a critical review of different approaches focusing on this phenomenon. To this effect, we labelled a 162-research-article corpus using rhetorical moves. The corpus is representative of Chilean scientific production between 2000 and 2008. We applied statistical techniques to over the 11,000 records to account for the prototypical rhetorical moves and describe the lexico-grammatical patterns associated to them in this type of specialist texts. The results of the study demonstrate the operation of particular 'prototypical' rhetorical moves in such texts as well as the lexico-grammatical patterns which formalize the former. The research done provides valuable empirical evidence both for those aiming at the analysis of scientific discourse and those focusing on the teaching and learning of scientific writing.
