%X Pese al inter¨¦s que el espa ol de Bolivia ofrece para la dialectolog¨ªa hispanoamericana, esta variedad sigue siendo una de las m¨¢s desconocidas del continente, muy especialmente en lo que se refiere a su desarrollo diacr¨®nico. Precisamente en esta l¨ªnea, el presente trabajo pretende ser una contribuci¨®n a la historia ling¨¹¨ªstica de Bolivia, en concreto de la zona andina del pa¨ªs; as¨ª, se pretenden describir los principales rasgos fon¨¦tico-fonol¨®gicos que caracterizan esta variedad del espa ol a principios del siglo XIX, a trav¨¦s del conjunto de cartas que Mar¨ªa Guadalupe Cuenca de Moreno -criolla de clase alta, nacida en Chuquisaca en 1790- escribe a su marido desde Buenos Aires en 1811. Despite of the interest of Bolivian Spanish for Latin American dialectology, this variety is still one of the most unknown in the continent, specially from a diachronic point of view. This paper aims to be a contribution to the history of the Spanish language in the Andean part of the country. Thus, it describes the most important phonological features of this variety of Spanish at the beginning of 19th. century; the letters that Mar¨ªa Guadalupe Cuenca de Moreno (high-level woman, born in Chuquisaca in 1790) writes to her husband from Buenos Aires in 1811 are the corpus used for this purpose.
