In this sense, it is a limited debate, but it nevertheless has general characteristics that might be relevance to other contexts. The purpose of this paper is to examine critically the proposition expressed by Carlos Serra as follows: 'there is no sociological point of view outside of you, the senses are yours, yours is the culture you have, yours is the social status you have, the nationality that identifies you in the world, yours is the prism through which to face or want to face life. The criticism is the observation that Serra¡¯s proposition waxes an individualistic and relativistic sociology. This preposition refuses the autonomy of sociology as an autonomous field of knowledge with procedures that have been institutionalized in a historical process of building the sociological point of view. Therefore, a sociological point of view is not reducible to the determinism of the individual. The article concludes with the suggestion that it is possible to do sociology from a sociological point of view and to give this view an epistemological place than individualistic. %K Carlos Serra %K epistemology %K Mozambique %K relativism %K sociological point of view %U http://www.sapiensresearch.org/images/pdf/v2n1/V2N1_Sociologando_3.pdf
