%X Presentamos an¨¢lisis t¨¦cnicos y estil¨ªsticos de discos met¨¢licos procedentes de Tilcara (provincia de Jujuy) y asignados a los momentos de contacto con el espa ol (ca. 1535-1650). Evaluamos los cambios y las continuidades estil¨ªsticas y, en menor medida, las t¨¦cnicas de elaboraci¨®n en discos desde el per¨ªodo prehisp¨¢nico tard¨ªo hasta el momento de contacto, tomando en consideraci¨®n la asimilaci¨®n o negociaci¨®n de ciertos valores europeos y el mantenimiento de decisiones culturales locales. La conquista espa ola fue un largo proceso caracterizado por alianzas, enfrentamientos y contactos de diverso alcance entre los europeos y las poblaciones originarias, implicando para ¨¦stas el ingreso a un nuevo entramado social que alter¨® la producci¨®n, circulaci¨®n y consumo de distintos tipos de bienes y de im¨¢genes. We present technical and stylistic analyses of metallic disks from Tilcara (province of Jujuy) and assigned to the time of first contact with the Spanish (ca. 1535-1650). We evaluate changes and continuities of style and to a lesser extent the disc manufacturing techniques from the late pre-Hispanic period to the time of contact, taking into consideration the assimilation or negotiation of certain European values and the upholding of local cultural decisions. The Spanish conquest was a lengthy process characterized by diverse forms of alliance, confrontation and contact between the European and native populations that brought the latter into a new social framework that altered the production, circulation and consumption of different types of goods and images.
