%X Looking to the future of the twenty-first century, the discussion about the scope and perspective of History as a science, including the epistemological reflection on their subject of study, generally summed up in the concept historical fact. Consequently, it is prudent to ask questions like the following:  how far that definition continues to have the validity enough to be accepted on a consensual by practitioners of historical research?  How far it is necessary to limit the term to give the historiography increasing degrees of relevance and usefulness to society?  What are the factors that currently lead to the questioning of History as a discipline individually in the concert of academic disciplines, in theory aimed at increasing the vast wealth that makes up the human knowledge? Try some answers to those questions is the central objective of this paper. De cara al devenir del siglo XXI, la discusi車n en torno a los alcances y perspectivas de la Historia como ciencia, en modo alguno puede obviar la reflexi車n epistemol車gica centrada en la redefinici車n de su objeto de estudio, gen谷ricamente sintetizado en el concepto Hecho Hist車rico. En consecuencia, cabe formularse preguntas del siguiente tenor:  hasta d車nde dicha definici車n contin迆a teniendo la validez suficiente para ser aceptada de manera consensual por los practicantes de la investigaci車n hist車rica?  Hasta d車nde es necesario acotar el t谷rmino para materializarlo en categor赤as de an芍lisis ciertamente operativas que proporcionen al trabajo historiogr芍fico dosis crecientes de pertinencia y utilidad social?  Cu芍les son los factores que en la actualidad conllevan al cuestionamiento de la Historia como disciplina individualizada en el concierto de las disciplinas acad谷micas encaminadas, en teor赤a, a incrementar el vasto acerbo que conforma el saber humano? Intentar algunas respuestas a dichas interrogantes es el objetivo central del presente ensayo.
