%X Combien de slavophones de Mac¨¦doine grecque se sont engag¨¦s dans l¡¯Arm¨¦e D¨¦mocratique pendant la guerre civile grecque ? L¡¯ont-ils fait par communisme, par sentiment national mac¨¦donien ou contraints par les circonstances ? Nul ne peut aujourd¡¯hui fournir une r¨¦ponse certaine ¨¤ ces questions. L¡¯¨¦tat actuel des recherches permet cependant de fournir des approximations num¨¦riques, des pr¨¦cisions sur leurs conditions de vie, soumises aux pressions id¨¦ologiques des diff¨¦rents occupants, du gouvernement grec, du KKE, de la Yougoslavie naissante, face ¨¤ une extr¨ºme pauvret¨¦ aggrav¨¦e par la politique d¡¯exclusion men¨¦e par les gouvernements grecs au d¨¦part des Allemands. On comprend ¨¦galement que les Slavophones sont loin d¡¯avoir une position politique unique, contrairement ¨¤ ce que qu¡¯affirment les diff¨¦rentes propagandes nationales qui les entourent. How many Slavophones from Greek Macedonia were committed in the Democratic Army during the Greek civil war? Have they joined because of communists beliefs, following their national Macedonian feeling or were they being forced by other circumstances? No one can provide a definite answer to those questions. The current state of research, however, allows some numerical approximations and details on their living conditions, revealing ideological pressures by various occupants, the Greek government, the Greek communist party, the nascent Yugoslavia, and extreme poverty, exacerbated by an exclusion policy pursued by the Greek government, after the Germans had left the country.
