La vall¨¦e de Asia, situ¨¦e ¨¤ quelque 100 km au sud de Lima, a jou¨¦ un r le important durant l Horizon moyen. En effet, les contextes fun¨¦raires de la Huaca Malena et les textiles ¨¦labor¨¦s qui en sont issus, sugg¨¨rent d ¨¦troites relations avec Huari, Pachacamac, et les c tes centrale et nord. L ¨¦tude des textiles nous permet de voir que la transition de l Horizon moyen ¨¤ la p¨¦riode Interm¨¦diaire r¨¦cent se marque par une croissance des relations avec la c te centrale. Selon les donn¨¦es ethnohistoriques, la vall¨¦e de Asia ¨¦tait durant la p¨¦riode Interm¨¦diaire r¨¦cent habit¨¦e par les Coyallo, qui versaient tribut ¨¤ Pachacamac. ¨¤ l Horizon r¨¦cent, les Incas construisirent d importants centres administratifs dans la vall¨¦e, et durant cette p¨¦riode le mat¨¦riel c¨¦ramique montre de fortes relations avec les styles des vall¨¦es voisines au nord, comme Mala, Chilca, et la c te aux alentours de Lima. El valle de Asia, situado a 100 kil¨®metros al sur de Lima, jug¨® un rol de importancia durante el Horizonte Medio. En efecto, los contextos funerarios de Huaca Malena, as¨ª como los finos textiles que los acompa an indican una fuerte relaci¨®n con Wari, Pachacamac, la Costa Central y la Costa Norte. De acuerdo con la evidencia textil, el tr¨¢nsito del Horizonte Medio al periodo Intermedio Tard¨ªo increment¨® las relaciones con la costa central. Para el periodo Intermedio Tard¨ªo, de acuerdo a la informaci¨®n etnohist¨®rica, el valle estuvo habitado por los coayllo, quienes tributaban a Pachacamac. Durante el Horizonte Tard¨ªo, los incas construyen importantes centros administrativos en el valle, y la cer¨¢mica durante este periodo se relacion¨® fuertemente con los estilos propios de los vecinos valles norte os de Mala, Chilca y la costa de Lima. FROM THE MIDDLE HORIZON TO THE LATE HORIZON ON THE SOUTH CENTRAL COAST: THE CASE OF THE ASIA VALLEY. The Asia valley, which is situated 100 km south of Lima, played an important role during the Middle Horizon. In fact, the funerary contexts of the Huaca Malena, as well as the elaborate textiles that were found in them, suggest a strong relationship with Wari, Pachacamac, the central and the north coasts. From the textile evidence the transition from the Middle Horizon to the Late Intermediate Period showed an increase in relations with the central coast. In accordance with ethnohistorical data, during the Late Intermediate Period the valley was inhabited by the Coayllo, who gave tribute to Pachacamac.
