%X CIENEGUILLA A L ARRIVEE DES INCAS. APPROCHE A PARTIR DE L HISTOIRE ECOLOGIQUE ET DE L ARCHEOLOGIE. Cet essai cherhce ¨¤ r¨¦sumer nos hypoth¨¨ses pr¨¦liminaires ¨¤ propos du district de Cieneguilla pendant l Horizon r¨¦cent et d¨¦finir la strat¨¦gie des recherches ¨¤ appliquer dans cette zone. Nous entendons expliquer les donn¨¦es g¨¦ographiques, arch¨¦ologiques et ethnohistoriques disponibles jusqu ici en mettant l'accent sur la distribution des ¨¦tablissements. Nous entendons ¨¦galement mettre en relation ces hypoth¨¨ses avec la probl¨¦matique de la d¨¦finition du ph¨¦nom¨¨ne Ychsma. Concr¨¨tement, nous voulons attirer l attention sur la pr¨¦sence possible de plusieurs segments   Ychsma   en rapport avec diff¨¦rents secteurs identifiables de la vall¨¦e du Lur¨ªn. Ces segments montrent l existence d'une entit¨¦ politique d¨¦centralis¨¦e qui fut plus tard transform¨¦e par les Incas. En el presente trabajo intentamos esbozar nuestras primeras hip¨®tesis sobre el distrito de Cieneguilla, tratando de plantearnos la l¨ªnea de trabajo que deberemos adoptar en la investigaci¨®n sobre el Horizonte Tard¨ªo en esta zona. Trataremos de exponer las evidencias geogr¨¢ficas, arqueol¨®gicas (especialmente el patr¨®n de asentamiento) y etnohist¨®ricas que conocemos hasta el momento, as¨ª c¨®mo ver estas hip¨®tesis en relaci¨®n con el fen¨®meno y problem¨¢tica Ychsma. Queremos principalmente llamar la atenci¨®n sobre la posible presencia de diversos segmentos de lo llamado  Ychsma , en relaci¨®n a las diferentes secciones identificables en el valle, que marcar¨ªan la existencia de una formaci¨®n pol¨ªtica descentralizada que fue transformada por los incas. CIENEGUILLA ON THE ARRIVAL OF THE INCAS. APPROACHES VIA ECOLOGICAL HISTORY AND ARCHAELOGY. In this paper we formulate our first hypotheses and initial line of investigation about the Cieneguilla district in the Late Horizon. We review the geographic, archeological (especially the settlement pattern) and ethnohistoric evidence that are known at present. We also look at our hypotheses in relation to the Ychsma problematic. We try to draw attention principally to the possible presence of different  segments  of what is usually denominated  Ychsma  in the valley, in relation to the different identifiable sections of the valley, that demonstrate the existence of a decentralized (segmentary) polity that was transformed by the incas.
