The objective of this article is to alert potential focus group researchers of some of the challenges related to conducting focus groups in rural areas. Our view-point article highlights the key issues of our experience in conducting focus groups in Nepal. Furthermore, it reflects on likely reasons why the challenges occurred and, where possible, offers some solutions to improve the running of focus groups.
