%X £¿4-(Succinimido)-1-butanesulfonicacidwasshowntobeanefficientandreusableBr£¿nstedacidcatalystforthesynthesisofpyrano[4,3-b]pyranderivativesusingthermalandultrasonicconditions.Thecatalystwaspreparedbymixingsuccinimideand1,4-butanesultone,whichissimplerandsaferthanthepreparationofsuccinimidesulfonicacid.Thismethodhastheadvantagesofhighyield,cleanreaction,simplemethodology,andshortreactiontime.Thecatalystcanberecycledwithoutlossofactivity.
