%0 Journal Article %T Postnatalontogeneticsizeandshapechangesinthecraniumsofplateaupikaandwoollyhare(Mammalia:Lagomorpha) %A Zhi-Gui ZHANG %A De-Yan GE %J 动物学研究 %P 287-293 %D 2014 %R 10.13918/j.issn.2095-8137.2014.4.287 %X Inthepresentstudy,postnatalontogeneticsizeandshapechangesinthecraniumoftwolagomorphspecies,theplateaupika(Ochotonacurzoniae)andwoollyhare(Lepusoiostolus),wereinvestigatedbygeometricmorphometrics.TheontogeneticsizeandshapechangesoftheircraniumexhibiteddifferentgrowthpatternsinresponsetosimilarenvironmentalpressuresontheQinghai-TibetanPlateau.Theoverallsizechangeinthecraniumoftheplateaupikawasslowerthanthatofthewoollyhare.Thepercentageofontogeneticshapevarianceexplainedbysizeinthewoollyharewasgreaterthanthatintheplateaupika.Theoverallshapeofthecraniumwasnarrowedinbothspecies,andmorphologicalcomponentsinrelationtoneuralmaturityshowednegativeallometry,whilethoseresponsibleformusculardevelopmentshowedisometricorpositiveallometry.Themostremarkableshapevariationsintheplateaupikawereassociatedwithfoodacquisition(temporalisdevelopment),thoughotherremarkableshapevariationsintheincisiveandpalatalforamenintheventralviewwerealsoobserved.Themostimportantshapechangeinthewoollyharewasdemonstratedbytheelongationofthenasalbones,expansionofthesupra-orbitalprocessandshapevariationoftheneurocranium. %K Ontogeny %K Geometricmorphometrics %K Allometry %K Cranialmorphology %K Lagomorpha %U http://www.zoores.ac.cn/CN/abstract/abstract3495.shtml
