At the end of 2016, estimates suggest that 63,000 people were living with HIV in Canada, of whom 14% were unaware of their HIV infection.1 Approximately 2200 people were newly diagnosed in 2016, and more than half (52%) of new HIV infections occurred in gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men (MSM). Other populations in Canada where there is a higher rate of new HIV diagnoses include Indigenous people, people from HIV-endemic countries and people who inject drugs. %U https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6410427/
