“Medium Characteristics” and “Data Practices”: “Running in Campuses” Based on the Locative Media %A 许同文 %J 国际新闻界 %D 2019 %X 摘要 随着移动数字设备的发展,自我追踪越来越与移动技术相关联,不同的技术形式 促成了不同的数据实践。本文以GMY高校学生使用的“运动世界校园”APP为例,从“媒介特性”出发,关注媒介技术在数据实践中发挥的作用。作为位置媒体的“运 动世界校园”具有身体、技术、空间的同时在场的“媒介特性”。“校园跑”是一种“被动式自我追踪”,在此过程中身体与技术的互嵌促生了一种“复合空间”,这一 复合空间同时又影响了身体的感知铭刻、调节了身体的相关活动。“校园跑”方便了 教师对学生日常锻炼的“凝视”、规训了学生的跑步行为。与此同时,相关的技术因 素又为学生作弊提供了可能性。在GMY高校这一具体场景中,人与非人的因素通过 “运动世界校园”这一媒介技术相互勾连,形成了一种特殊的数据实践。
With the development of mobile digital devices, self-tracking is more and more associated with mobile technology. Different forms of technology entail different data practices. Taking the "Sports World in Campus" APP used by GMY college students as an example, this paper focuses on the role of media technology factors, especially the "medium characteristics "in data practice. "Sports World in Campus" APP, as the locative media, has the characteristics of the co-presence of body/technology/space. As a type of "imposed self-tracking", the interaction between the body and technology, in the "running in campus", creates a "hybrid space", which in?uences the perception of the body and regulates the relevant activities of the body. "Running in campus" not only makes teachers gaze at student's daily exercise and discipline their running behavior, but also provides the possibilities for students to cheat. In this process, human and non-human factors are interconnected and forming a special data practice, through the mediatization of technology %K 自我追踪 %K 数据实践 %K 运动世界校园 %K 媒介特性
