She underwent an endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration of the lymph nodes and histology yielded non-necrotizing epithelioid granulomas with no evidence of malignancy. A diagnosis of sarcoid-like reaction associated with lung adenocarcinoma was made.
