%0 Journal Article %T Immigrant integration and their negative sentiments toward recent immigrants: The case of Hong Kong %A Eric Fong %A Hua Guo %J Asian and Pacific Migration Journal %D 2018 %R 10.1177/0117196818772326 %X Negative sentiments toward recent immigrants should not be viewed as a dichotomous antagonistic relationship between the native-born population and immigrants. Our study, based on recent data collected from Hong Kong, shows that a considerable proportion of immigrants, especially those who arrived a longer time ago, have also adopted negative sentiments toward recent immigrants. The findings call for exploring how different waves of immigrants develop negative sentiments against recent immigrants.
