%0 Journal Article %T Home Caregivers Training Program for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis: Insights From a Pilot Project %A Anabela Pinto %A Anna Caroline Marques Braga %J Home Health Care Management & Practice %@ 1552-6739 %D 2018 %R 10.1177/1084822317753830 %X Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) has an uncertain progression timeframe that leading to total dependence of a caregiver. A training program (TP) about home health care for ALS patient caregivers can help to address the burden of care. The feasibility outcome was caregiver¡¯s participation, and the primary outcome was level of learning. We used theoretical and hands-on approaches to training basic skills during 5 days. All participants undertaken to a written exam at the end of TP, and we assessed the methodology used through satisfaction questionnaires. We achieved a good adherence (77 participants) and a successful completion participation (70% approval).
