Miltefosine (MF) is the only oral drug existing for treatment of post-kala-azar dermal leishmaniasis (PKDL). Increased miltefosine tolerance in clinical isolates of Leishmania donovani has been reported and is one of the major concerns in the treatment of PKDL.
