%X Project-based learning is a new type of teaching or learning model under the guidance of constructivism. A lot of researches have shown that the application of PBL in foreign language teaching can arouse students¡¯ interest in second language learning and improve their cooperative ability. In this paper, the author made a summary of the current researching trend of PBL in second language teaching abroad and in China, as well as an empirical research of PBL in English teaching with aim to find out the efficiency of PBL. By the research, it is found that the application of PBL in English class to some extent can make positive effect on students¡¯ learning.
