The experience of the Mussolini regime penetrated the Colombian political and cultural struggle just as a complex process of modernization changed the face of this Latin American country. As an ideology and model of statehood, fascism had influence across party lines, attracting both conservatives anxious to actualize the party's doctrine, and liberals in search of pragmatic solutions to specific problems.
