%0 Journal Article %T University Campuses as a Test Field in the Context of ¡°Smart Citizen¡± as a Component of Smart City %A O£¿uzhan G¨¹RSOY %J - %D 2019 %X The aim of this article is to emphasize the importance of pilot implementations in smart city projects which have high installation cost and to show that university campuses can offer convenient test fields based on ¡°smart citizen¡± component of the smart city. In order to achieve this goal, a sociological analysis called ¡°generational differences¡± is addressed by taking the society and technology relations into account, and the relations of universities with the city and society are examined. After that, the advantages and disadvantages that university campuses have in testing the smart city projects and introducing them into society are evaluated.
