In particular, what¡¯s been happening in Turkey in recent years has led to the questioning of the relationship between press freedom and national security. However, discussions about how this relationship has not ended. These reasons are also important to determine and examine the relevant regulations in the national legislation in terms of constitutional and legal aspects. In doing so, it is of great importance to follow a comparative method to examine national legislation. At this point, Germany, France and US approach on freedom of the press-national security relationship was examined, and then, the case law of European Court of Human Rights which is of great importance for Turkey was covered. Finally, in the light of relevant judicial decisions and legislation, some critical issues which have been on the agenda in recent years regarding the relationship between press freedom and national security have been examined.
