C3G is characterized bydeposition of dominant complement C3 with absence/traces of immunoglobulins in the glomeruli. C3G may be classified into dense deposit disease (DDD) and C3 glomerulonephritis (C3GN). DDD and C3GN are rare forms of glomerulonephritis that affect both children and adults.
