Lighting technology should be evaluated in accordance with the architectural identity of the buildings. Light, technology and natural set up in in lighting design of cities should be based on especially sustainability fundamentals. The ecological perspective in sustainable city lighting plays an important role in establishing a healthy city profile. Excessive and improper use of lighting technology in cities harms the ecosystem, causes ecological problems. Light pollution affects life negatively by damaging the ecological balance of living and non-living beings. It prevents the sustainability of healthy comfort conditions, causes energy waste, affects astronomical observations. Light pollution is caused by technically unsuitable and excessive illumination of the exterior facades, roads, streets, billboards and sports areas. It is important to act through understanding nature to prevent light pollution. When designing and producing in the field of lighting, the adoption of targets for the protection of living beings and the environment is important for the sustainability of the healthy environment. In this study, significance of targeting health, comfort and sustainability without disturbing the ecological balance of living and non-living beings is emphasized.
