%0 Journal Article %T EXPLOITATION OF WOMEN THROUGH THE BODY AND FEELINGS: A CASE STUDY OF MATCHMAKING SHOWS %A Sait YILDIRIM %J - %D 2018 %X Quantitative indicators on the popularity of matchmaking show lead to a significant effect and field of interest in terms of sociology. In matchmaking programs exploitation through the body and feelings of women occurs by means of capitalism. Corporate identity of marriage and the family are presented in different forms. Corporate and cultural values are presented by simulations progressing over symbols in these programs. Fictions, which lost own reality in modern societies and are formed virtually, blind the reality on the family. Life stories, life styles and actions of the program attendants lead to a deformation in the cultural structure. Reflection of this process is compared to destructive effect of the opportunities which capitalism gives to cultural imperialism on the family in postmodern society. Fictional signs which are presented on TVs can be analysed by semiology. Basic component of audiences and the fiction presented on TV consist of language and symbols. Differences of denotation and connotation in these programs are analysed by interpreting through semiology as a science of constative signs in the society. Aspects which are functioned, seen and reflected to the audience define denotation while facts affecting subconscious through discourse and symbols define connotation. Connotation reflects real aspect of text, discourse or system. Realities according to analysis method of semiology, realities structure according to alternative realities to phenomenological views of myth and symbolic behaviours.
