%0 Journal Article %T INFORMAL EMPLOYMENT OF FOREIGNERS IN TURKEY %A O£¿uzhan Aslant¨¹rk %A Yusuf Erdem Tun£¿ %J - %D 2018 %X The informal sector, which shows similar characteristics in many ways with the formal sector, means that the legal rules are exceeded during the production activity. Therefore, the employer goes beyond the control of the finance and social security institutions and does not fulfill the institutional obligations in terms of taxation and social security. The subject of informal employment is composed of workers from many different forms of employment. Children, women, disabled and foreigners can be considered within this scope. However, informal employment of foreigners will be discussed in this study. Lack of integration between Turkish migration and asylum legislations and existence of limitations against the unqualified workforce are the primary factors affecting informal employment. Although measures are taken to prevent informality such as administrative fines, the reasons such as high labor costs are cause informality. The purpose of the study is to show the imposition of sanctions against informal employment of foreigners.
