%0 Journal Article %T Investigation of the Relationship between Hand Grip Power and Some Anthropometric Characteristics in Handicapped Elite Arm Wrestling Athletes %A Seydi Ali TUNCA %J - %D 2019 %X The aim of this research is to determine the correlation between hand grip power and some anthropometric characteristics in elite handicapped armwrestling athletes. Procedure: 37 (thirty-seven) national armwrestling athlete (28 male, 9 female; Age: 31,64; Height: 170 cm; Weight: 56,44 kg) completed in Handicapped Armwrestling Championship Turkey voluntarily participated in this study. Some measurements (biceps circumference, humerus length, forearm circumference, forearm length, blend length and finger length) and hand grip power were taken both arms in order to collect data. Findings: There is high positive correlation between hand grip power and forearm circumference in both arms of the male athletes. Additionally, high positive correlation between hand grip power and finger length in left arm of the male athletes has been found. Result: Taking these factors into consideration and paying attention will help the armwrestling athletes succeed.
